Leo Full Moon 2026

February kicks off a bit dramatic with the Leo Full Moon on February 1st

Full Moons are often associated with culmination, release, and letting go as the Moon begins to wane. In Leo, this Full Moon heightens themes around identity, self-expression, creativity, and the desire to be seen.

Emotions tend to run louder here in dramatic Leo. Pride, recognition, and the need for acknowledgment surface, not to create drama for drama’s sake, but to reveal where self-expression has become tied to validation. This lunation brings clarity around roles, identities, or ways of showing up that require constant performance to maintain. It asks what feels authentic versus what has been sustained for approval, applause, or reassurance.

While all Full Moons occur with the Moon opposite the Sun, this one is shaped by what’s happening across the sky. The Sun is surrounded by a stellium of inner planets alongside Pluto in Aquarius, shifting the focus away from personal spotlight and toward collective direction, long-term vision, and systemic change.

This contrast between Leo and Aquarius sets the tone for the Annular Solar Eclipse in Aquarius later in the month, where attention moves decisively from who you are to how that identity functions within communities and networks, but also society and the collective at large.

The detachment Aquarius provides from the self doesn’t dissolve individuality. Aquarius does have a strong respect for individuality, uniqueness, and embracing your weird. But Aquarius also deeply cares about humanity as a whole.

With so many planets in Aquarius, there are very big collective themes at play. Humanitarianism, social and civil rights, and collective responsibility come to the surface. Aquarius is often associated with the role of the Social Justice Warrior, highlighting awareness around systems, progress, and the future we are shaping together.

What adds intensity to this Full Moon is how the Sun is surrounded on both sides. On one side sits Mars and Pluto, amplifying pressure, urgency, and the need for deep structural change. This can be a very combative, combustible energy. Tension is rising, and there is a great deal of pressure being felt globally as systems, power structures, and leadership are challenged and tested.

On the other side of the Sun sit Mercury and Venus, drawing attention to communication, values, relationships, and resources. Words carry weight right now. Conversations are charged. Decisions around money, alliances, and cooperation feel heightened, especially where ideals and realities no longer match. This creates a sense of being mentally and emotionally squeezed, where avoiding difficult conversations or delaying decisions becomes increasingly uncomfortable.

Together, this configuration reflects a moment where personal expression, collective tension, and future direction collide. What surfaces now is not random. It is the result of pressure that has been building beneath the surface, asking for acknowledgment, recalibration, and more intentional movement forward.

Running underneath the intensity of this Full Moon is a quieter, supportive framework that has been steadily forming over the last few weeks.

Saturn in Pisces, Neptune newly in Aries, Uranus retrograde in Taurus, and Pluto in Aquarius are not acting in isolation. Their harmonious aspects have been gradually reinforcing one another, creating a slow but intentional build toward restructuring rather than breakdown.

Saturn’s supportive connection to Uranus helps translate disruption into something workable, allowing necessary changes to take shape without total instability.

Uranus’ ongoing harmony with Pluto signals that deeper systemic transformation is already underway and supported, even if it feels uncomfortable in the moment.

Neptune’s continued connection to both Saturn and Pluto dissolves outdated narratives while quietly preparing new ones to emerge.

Personal
On a personal level, this Full Moon highlights the tension between how you’ve been showing up and how that actually feels internally. Leo energy is loud and expressive, and emotions tend to arrive a bit dramatically. There’s heightened awareness around visibility, validation, and self-expression, especially where those things have started to feel performative or exhausting. Feelings may surface all at once, making it harder to keep pretending everything is fine.

At the same time, a degree of emotional distance makes it easier to step back and see the bigger picture. You may feel suddenly clear about what no longer resonates, even if the realization lands with intensity, frustration, or anger.

Business / Career
In work and career, this same energy can show up as a spotlight moment. Leo brings visibility, pride, and leadership into focus, while the pressure underneath asks whether the role you’re playing still fits. There may be heightened reactions around recognition, authority, or feeling seen for your efforts.

Attention turns to systems, structures, networking, collaboration, and long-term direction, often revealing where something looks successful on the surface but no longer feels sustainable behind the scenes. There is a strong emphasis on community, groups, and your role within them. Growing intolerance for inefficient processes, power imbalances, or roles that demand constant output without meaningful return becomes harder to ignore. While the emotional charge may be strong, the support here favors thoughtful recalibration over dramatic exits. You may feel drawn to simplify, restructure, or quietly shift strategy rather than force growth. This Full Moon doesn’t require immediate action, but it does make it very clear what cannot continue as it has.

Collective
We have seen a great deal of chaos and suffering across the globe come to what feels like a head over the last few weeks. From the growing revolt in the United States against authoritarianism, to the ongoing horrors in Gaza, the blackout in Iran resulting in mass deaths that have barely been acknowledged, and countless other crises unfolding with far less visibility, these events are not isolated. They reflect pressure that has been building beneath the surface for a long time.

This energy does not justify what is happening, nor does it assign meaning to suffering. It does not suggest that pain exists for a higher purpose. It simply brings attention to where abuse of power has been ongoing and tension is coming to a head.

For many people and cultures, oppression and instability are not new or sudden experiences. They are ongoing realities. There is no need to romanticize them, martyr them, or spiritually bypass what is actually happening.

What Aquarius energy does bring is exposure and disruption. When systems are under pressure, change is rarely comfortable, especially when it involves collective power and mass movements. This is not a defense of upheaval, but an acknowledgment of how transformation tends to surface when long-standing tensions can no longer be contained. Unfortunately, this is not an overnight fix, but will be a big theme for sometime. The eclipses this year play a big part of shifting energies, especially the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius at the end of the month.

These insights reflect the collective energy of this Full Moon, but how it actually impacts you depends on your own astrological chart. We all feel these transits differently, especially when it comes to identity, visibility, work, and direction.
